Fun in Nature this Christmas
Healthy Living Platform partnered with Myatts Field Park and the Lambeth Early Action Partnership Vassal Family Engagement team to deliver 50 Christmas activity packs to our families in the community before the festive holidays.
it’s more important than ever to spend time outdoors over the winter months, so these packs placed a real emphasis on craft activities that involved getting out and about. They also encouraged families to collect natural materials such as sticks, leaves and pine cones and to make the most of the green spaces around them.
The packs were designed by Madeleine- our Zumba instructor – who also included a jazzy Jingle Bells video for families to dance along to on our Healthy Living Platform Youtube
Each pack featured:
a pine cone Christmas tree decoration activity
a Jingle Bells song sheet
cloves for making orange pomanders (such a hit last year at our Friday Family Fun sessions)
bubble and stickers – (bubbles are always fun to chase outdoors)
a map of Lambeth’s parks and green spaces to visit
a children’s book- thanks to generous donations organised by the Vassal Team
We were also pleased to include tips for reading with your young children from Doorstep Library
and a delicious healthy Christmas cookies recipe from Sneakyveg.com
Our families loved receiving their packs- either at our veg bag collection at The Remakery or delivered by our smiling volunteers on bikes- we had lots of positive feedback.
