Celebrating our Latest Food Ambassadors! πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ³

Last week marked a special occasion as a new group of Food Ambassadors successfully completed their course with flying colors. We commemorated their achievement with a group lunch, attended by their families, past Food Ambassadors, members from various local charities, and Jim Dickson, Labour councillor in Lambeth.

After a morning spent preparing their dishes, the afternoon was started with a small ceremony where they were presented with their certificates by Jim Dixon himself. Before each dish was served, the Food Ambassadors explained its significance and shared their personal aspirations for the future, reflecting on how the Food Ambassador course has empowered them.

Our meal began with a delectable bruschetta on fresh greens, inspired by Katia’s Italian heritage. For the main course, we savored the flavors of Ethiopia, thanks to Yemi, Tsige, and Zewditu, who prepared Mesir Wat and Atakilt Wat served with Basmati rice. Dessert was a delightful black forest brownie with raspberries, accompanied by Ethiopian coffee, offering the perfect balance of sweetness.

Beyond the culinary delights, it was lovely to witness the closeness among the group, as friendships blossomed throughout the Food Ambassadors course. They not only learned about each other's cultures but have also been brought together by food.
