Food Ambassadors pop-up at Platform cafe
Our Food Ambassadors cooked for the public for the first time last week. Usually cooking in community centres for friends and colleagues with children under 4, they popped up in the Platform cafe, in Loughborough Junction, serving our signature one-pot vegetarian food, with salad and healthy dessert.
Ably assisted by our community cooks, Mala and Zoe, Friday's menu was a delicious Somalian curry, served with a Kurdish broad bean & dill salad, rice and cucumber raita. Dessert was a fruit crumble. Many thanks to City Harvest who supplied all the fresh fruit and vegetable ingredients.
On Monday our Food Ambassadors serviced chickpea curry with a couscous 'ruby' salad, followed by banana ice cream.
All main meals were £5 or £3 for concessions, with a free meal for children eating with their parents. Recipes will be available on the website soon and the Food Ambassadors loved cooking so much they can't wait to do it again!
