Community planning meeting for Black History month

October is Black History month and Healthy Living Platform are planning to put on a series of events celebrating Black culture. We are hosting an online zoom meeting on Friday 18th September at 10am to gather your views and find out how you would like to get involved and any ideas you might have for such events.

Please click here to register for the event

Some ideas we are thinking about would be around how the smell and taste of foods have been passed down the generations – early memories of that special meal that your parents or grandparents used to cook, the history and influence of African and Caribbean spices and herbs, writings, pictures and poetry about that memorable taste, the smells from childhood that you have when in the kitchen.

If you have any thoughts in the meantime, please email us at info@healthylivingplatform.org to help us plan, or otherwise just bring them along on the day. At the meeting we will ask you to vote and agree on the 3 most popular events.
