Food Ambassadors wanted for Diwali themed carnival

We are looking for 2 x Food Ambassadors to provide food and a family cooking activity.

Where? The LEAP 'Carnival Comes to Stockwell with a Diwali twist at Slade Gardens, Stockwell Park Road, London SW9 0DB

When? Tuesday 2nd November, 10.30am-1pm  (and food preparation day before on 1st November)

What? Healthy vegetarian Indian family-friendly dishes – to feed 50 families, including a healthy (sugar-free) dessert. 

Must Also… Prepare a fun activity for young children (1-4 years old) to get them interested in veg and Indian culture. 

We can provide use of a kitchen for food preparation (the day before), volunteers (if required) and you will also be expected to attend the event to serve the food and run the activity. 

 You will need to:

  • Have a Food Hygiene certificate
  • Be a trained HLP Food Ambassador 

 Payment:  £100 to each food ambassador 

Budget: £20 in total for food (we provide extra surplus veg on top of this).

You can use these questions to help write your pitch:

  1. What meal will you make?
  2. Where is the meal from and why is it special in this culture? 
  3. What children’s activity could you run for this? What works for this age group - 1-4 years 
  4. Who will you work with and when will you do the advance food preparation?
