Eating Well After Your Baby

Join Zoe from our Healthy Living Kitchen and the Henry Family Nutrition Team to learn more about eating well after having your baby. 

This will be a fun and interactive session where we will cook along together (online) and make a quick yet delicious mixed bean chilli soup, full of protein, fibre and essential vitamins and minerals. We will be exploring the importance of going beyond your ‘5 a day’ and  aiming for at least 30 different plants into your diet a week and sharing tips that will help you realise it is much easier than you think!

These are the ingredients you will need for the session:

1 onion

2 cloves of garlic*

300 grams of a mix of any root veg, such as carrots, parsnips, potatoes, swede etc

1 tin of chopped tomatoes

1 tin of white beans 

1 tin of kidney or black beans

100 grams of greens, such as kale, chard or spinach

1 teaspoon of ground cumin*

1 teaspoon of paprika (smoked if you have it)*

1 teaspoon of chilli powder or chilli flakes (optional) , or fresh chilli*

Half a tablespoon of cocoa powder (optional)*

1 teaspoon of balsamic or red wine vinegar (optional)*

A couple of squeezes of fresh lime or orange juice*

1 tablespoon of olive oil*

*Ingredients not included in recipe packs


You will need the following equipment:

Chopping board

Sharp knife for chopping

Medium/large saucepan

Wooden spoon
